Events:
The club's Bar and Events Team have booked a music evening on the 10th January, to say a big Thank You to all our members, which will be free to all members. We will be promoting this nearer the time,
Next year the club is looking to start an ongoing programme of events for members every month or so – this will involve quizzes, music and comedy nights. Keep your eyes open for more news on that.
Mixed Tennis Tournament:
The tennis section are holding a fancy dress mixed tournament on Sunday 7th December. This sounds like this will be a lot of fun (and embarrassment depending on the fancy dress!)
New Bins and Benches
The club have bought new rubbish bins and benches for the tennis courts. These are much needed and will hopefully make the club's exterior look much tidier.
New Coffee Machine
The new coffee machine has arrived! This will be Mocha welcomed by everyone, providing a large variety of barista-standard coffees. These will be available throughout the day, and very welcome on those cold, blustery winter days.
New Pickleball Social Session
Due to the continued success of pickleball, the Club will be introducing an additional DUPR-rated social session on Saturday afternoons in the New Year. This session will be open to all participants and is ideal for those unable to play midweek, while offering a great opportunity to enjoy competitive, friendly, rated play
Club Business Plan
At the recent club AGM, the management committee provided an update on development of a business plan, and reported that, once we had carried out some preparatory analysis of the club's situation, we would arrange for a working group to compile a prioritised action plan. This group would hopefully be composed of members across the club. If you are interested in being part of this group, pleas let us know by email to scott@newmaldenclub.co.uk.
Code of Conduct
The club have put together a code of conduct for all members, which is attached to this newsletter. Most of it is plain common sense, but we think it is important to be clear on how members can expect to be treated by fellow members.
