Land Sale Update from AGM

As you will know, the club's Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held at the club last night. As part of the meeting we provided to those members present a full update of the outcome of the sale of the land occupied by tennis courts 7, 8 and 9.

Whilst minutes of the meeting will be circulated in due course, we are keen for all members of the club to be in aware of this outcome at the earliest opportunity, as well as the key points of the AGM.

We are extremely pleased to be able to inform you that, on Friday 15th August 2025 the developer, Concept Developments Ltd, submitted the required forms and information to the Club's solicitor in order to exercise their right to purchase this land. This means that the monies received from this sale will be transferred to our club by Monday 1st September, as was laid out in the new contract worked out and agreed earlier this year,

Once these monies have been received we will publish further details, together with our proposals on how we will involve the members in producing a development plan for the club; these proposals were discussed at some length at the meeting last night.

With regards to the normal business of the AGM, we can confirm that the chairman's report was considered and accepted by the members present, the accounts were considered and accepted by the members present, and the members present agreed that the club auditors be re-appointed for the coming year. A number of questions regardig the accounts had been submitted by members prior to the meeting; these questions and the appropriate answers were read out at the meeting, with supplementary questions answered as they arose.

The chairman reported that the present members of the committee were prepared to stand for a further year, and that there had been no alternative nominations for any of the positions. As a result, those members present agreed that the present members of the committee be re-appointed for a further term of office.

House and Grounds Official: Paul Impey

Since the section chairpersons are elected by their own section members, they automatically form part of the management committee. These are:

Finally, we trust that the news on the sale of the tennis courts will leave all of our members smiling today.

Bank Holiday Monday (25th August) opening hours.

This coming Monday will be a Bank holiday and in line with our usual bank holiday opening policy the club will open at Normal hours but will close at 8:00pm
