Pickleball at New Malden Sports Club

We are delighted to let you know that we are launching Pickleball at the club. Pickleball is an easy to learn, cross between badminton, tennis and table tennis played indoors and outdoors, on a badminton sized court. Our two hard tennis courts now have Pickleball court lines on them. Court 5 has Pickleball courts 1 & 2 and court 6 has Pickleball courts 3 & 4. We have purchased nets, paddles and balls which arrived today. MyCourts now has a section for booking the courts.

We are lucky to have some qualified Pickleball coaches to help us, and they have arranged a taster session on Friday 2nd August, from 11.00 till 4.00pm. The cost is £20 each. It's being organised by Gillian Collinson and her team who will be there to help you get started. If you would like to play, please reply to this email so we can manage numbers.

There are also 2 beginners' sessions at 12.00 and 2.00 pm for those that haven't played before. Places are limited for these 2 sessions so book early. Pickleball membership is available for £70 pa and you can join online here. (https://newmaldensports.mycourts.co.uk/member_enrollment.asp) or at the clubhouse. You can book courts up to seven days ahead. We are currently not offering Pay and Play until we see how it goes. Please note that currently all main sporting memberships allow you to book a Pickleball court, so you don't need to add a Pickleball membership if you already have sporting membership. We have paddles and balls that can be hired for a small fee while trying it out. Memberships, access and costs will be reviewed in the future when we see how it's going. As with all member bookings, please enter up to 3 partner/opponents in the booking. If you are playing with non-members please select 'Adult Guest £5' for each non-member playing with you .

We will be organising coaching and social sessions very soon so look out for news emails and posters around the club.
